ME7 5120 scaling explained without treating it like a magic boost patch.

The 5120 modification expands the usable internal pressure representation in ME7 software. It is a scaling change, not a command for more boost and not a substitute for calibrating the real MAP sensor.

Why 5120 exists

ME7 pressure channels and maps have finite numerical ranges. A 5120 conversion rescales the relevant pressure paths so higher absolute pressure values can be represented without simply hitting the original internal range.

What still has to be calibrated

Boost request, KFLDHBN, boost-control authority, load modeling and the actual MAP-sensor slope/offset remain separate calibration problems. A correct 5120 core with the wrong sensor calibration is still wrong.

Mapelyx guarded package: the current production workflow is software-specific to 06A906032HS 0008 and refuses unknown or partial states rather than stacking another patch blindly.

Frequently asked questions

Does 5120 automatically raise boost?

No. It changes pressure scaling headroom. Boost request and control still come from the calibration and hardware.

Do I still need MAP sensor scaling after a 5120 patch?

Yes. The ECU must still have the correct sensor slope and offset for the physical MAP sensor installed.
